Staining Kit: KLUEVER-BARRERA Staining
The chemical components of the kit interact specifically with the structures to be stained. Luxol Fast Blue binds to myelin, which is found in the myelin sheaths of nerve fibers, while hematoxylin binds proteins in cell bodies. Subsequent treatment with lithium carbonate serves to differentiate and stabilize the staining.
The way this kit works is based on these chemical interactions, which allow targeted and specific staining of the structures in question. The use of this kit in medical diagnostics and life sciences enables efficient and precise analysis of tissue preparations, especially in neuropathology and neurobiology.

Instructions / Protocol / Recommendations
Verwendung:
The KLÜVER-BARERRA myelin staining kit is a special kit for staining myelin sheaths in in vitro diagnostics. It combines myelin sheath and cell staining (NISSL) to visualize myelinated nerve fibers and cell bodies and is used to visualize myelinated nerve fibers in blue staining and cell bodies in violet staining. This type of staining is particularly useful for the analysis of nerve tissue and allows a differentiated view of neural structures and their morphology.
Prinzip:
The Klüver-Barerra myelin staining kit is used for in vitro diagnostics of cell and tissue structures. The functional principle is based on the selective binding of components to different structures: Luxol Fast Blue binds to myelin sheaths, while Papanicolaous Hematoxylin binds to cell nuclei. Lithium carbonate is used as a buffer to regulate pH and ensure optimal staining. Thus, myelin sheaths and cell nuclei can be stained differently in histological preparations and subsequently analyzed under the microscope.
