TECHNOVIT® plastics for histology

The processing of histological samples with hard components (bone, teeth, keratin, horn, fingernails, implants, etc.) places special demands on the embedding media. On the one hand the embedding must be very hard and produce a continuous mechanical coherence of the block, on the other hand the tissue must be penetrated into microscopic fine structures and preserved. In addition, it must be cutable, grindable and finally dyeable. The Kulzer Technovites meet these high requirements.

TECHNOVIT® 3040 - ABFORMEN UND KLEBEN

The 2-component plastic consists of a powder and a liquid component. Depending on the requirements, the material can be mixed in a ratio of 1:1 to 3:1 (powder / liquid). The standard mixing ratio of 2:1 can be poured for approx. 2 minutes, then kneaded for approx. 30 seconds. The curing time is approx. 5 minutes. Colours: yellow and black

TECHNOVIT® 4000 - DAS SCHRUMPFARME

Technovit 4000 is a fast-curing cold-curing 3-component plastic with minimal shrinkage for bonding Technovit 7200 blocks to plastic slides.

Materials, material tests and metallographic specimens place special demands on embedding. The sample must be completely enclosed and held so that the subsequent processing steps can be carried out correctly. Here too the Technovite range offers a broad spectrum with various properties:

TECHNOVIT® EPOX

Technovit EPOX is a 3-component epoxy resin system with which curing time, pot life and temperature load can be individually adjusted.

TECHNOVIT® 2000 LC

Technovit 2000 LC is an easy-to-use 1-component plastic. Polymerization is carried out under blue light in the Technotray POWER light polymerization unit. Precise casting and positioning is no problem. The system is used for the examination and preparation of sensitive, temperature-sensitive materials and micro parts.

TECHNOVIT® 4002 IQ - THE GAP-FREE

Technovit 4002 IQ is based on a modified polyester consisting of either a fast or a slow powder component (different curing and pot life) and a liquid. Colours: white and green.

TECHNOVIT® 4004 - TRANSPARENT DAS

Transparent 2-component material based on MMA. This powder-liquid system is ideal for rapid routine examinations that require visual inspection.

TECHNOVIT® 4006 - DAS HOCHTRANSPARENTE

The crystal clear version. The highly transparent 2-component cold embedding resin allows a lower temperature load due to the longer curing time. This makes target preparations simple and uncomplicated, even on more sensitive materials.

TECHNOVIT® 4006 SE - HIGH CLEAR

Technovit 4006 SE is also suitable for casting very thin layers and offers the possibility of embedding even small samples with a small volume in a short period of time in a highly transparent manner.

TECHNOVIT® 4071 - UNIVERSAL DAS

Thanks to its uncomplicated processing, Technovit 4071 is a universally applicable, efficient cold embedding material. The semi-transparency allows a rough visual inspection of the sample. The good grinding and polishing properties together with the variable mixing ratio make it the embedding material for simple routine work. Color: green-transparent

TECHNOVIT® 5000 - DAS ELEKTRISCH LEITENDE

This copper-based 2-component cold embedding resin enables conductive embeddings that are ideal for SEM examinations. Technovit 5000 also forms a good basis for the electrolytic preparation of metallographic samples. Technovit 5000 is flowable for approx. 1 minute (by light tapping of the mould) and cures within 7 minutes. Colour: copper brown

TECHNOVIT® 5071 - DAS AUFLÖSBARE

With Technovit 5071, embedded samples can be easily removed. This product offers the simplest application with good mechanical machinability. E.g. for SEM examinations, microprobe or electrolytic preparation of samples. Technovit 5071 is also an optimal adhesive, e.g. for strain gauges. Color: green-transparent
