The MASSON GOLDNER Trichrome staining kit is a Masson stain modified by Goldner and is mainly used for histological staining of tissue samples. With this trichrome stain, different tissue structures such as collagen fibers, muscle tissue, cell nuclei and cytoplasm can be stained differently and easily distinguished from each other. The kit consists of various staining components that are applied to the tissue sample in several steps.

The main components of this kit are Weigert stock solutions A and B, which are used to prepare the hematoxylin solution for staining the cell nuclei in black-blue. Acid fuchsin-ponceau azophloxin stains cytoplasm and muscle fibers in red. Phosphomolybdic acid-Orange G (GOLDNER II) is used to differentiate red staining and stain collagen fibers in orange. Light green 0.2% (GOLDNER III) stains collagen fibers in green.

A 10% acetic acid stock solution is used as a stock solution for further dilution to 1% solutions, which are used multiple times in the staining protocol for differentiation and rinsing.

The use of the MASSON GOLDNER Trichrome Staining Kit allows detailed examination of tissue structures and assessment of tissue changes that may be associated with various diseases. It is particularly useful for the analysis of connective tissue and muscle tissue and is widely used in histopathological diagnosis.
