Victoria Blue Stock Solution
Victoriablau staining solution (stock solution) is widely used in medical diagnostics, histology and scientific laboratories. A main application is the identification of hepatitis B antigens by specific staining.
The solution is composed of distilled water, dextrin, Victoriablau B, resorcinol, ferric chloride, ethanol, hydrochloric acid and phenol. Victoriablau B (C.I.: 44045) is a triphenylmethane dye and gives the solution its characteristic blue color. Resorcinol and phenol act as binding components, while ethanol and water serve as solvents.
The application creates specific bonds between the dye molecules and the target structures in the sample. This enables differential staining, allowing hepatitis B antigens to be visualized.
Staining by Victoria blue staining solution (stock solution) results in specific blue coloring of the antigens, which can be observed and analyzed under the microscope.
