Sudan IV 0.2 % with acetone

Sudan IV 0.2 % with acetone is often used in medical diagnostics and histological studies to visualize adipose tissue in tissue samples. This product stains lipids specifically, which is very useful in histological visualization. It consists of ethanol, distilled water, Sudan IV and acetone. Sudan IV, also known as Solvent Red 24 with the chemical formula C24H20N4O, binds to lipophilic structures, while ethanol (C2H6O) and acetone (C3H6O) serve as solvents that facilitate staining and penetration into the tissue. Chemically, these substances interact in such a way that Sudan IV is incorporated into fatty tissue, allowing acetone and ethanol to penetrate the tissue. Results of these staining procedures show distinct red (lipophilic) areas on an otherwise low-contrast background, which is useful for differentiation in microscopic observation.

In summary, this product facilitates the identification of adipose tissue.
