SZCZEPANIK Hematoxylin (cytological rapid staining)
SZCZEPANIK Hematoxylin Solution, part of the SZCZEPANIK staining kit, is used for rapid cytological staining in laboratory environments. It consists of Papanicolaou Gill's hematoxylin, aluminum sulfate hydrate and citric acid, with the solids dissolved in the liquid.
The solution is specifically intended for staining cell nuclei and other basophilic structures in histological and cytological specimens, staining them blue to violet.
Chemically, hematoxylin acts as a dye that specifically interacts with basophilic structures in cells, while aluminum sulfate serves as a mordant that enhances the binding between hematoxylin and cellular structures. Citric acid is used as a pH regulator to ensure optimal staining conditions.
