Sodium Chloride-Phosphate Buffer pH 7.5
Sodium Chloride Phosphate Buffer pH 7.5 serves in laboratory applications as a stable medium in which biological reactions can be effectively controlled. Especially in DNA and RNA extraction, protein purification and enzyme reactions, this buffer efficiently fulfills its function. By combining di-sodium hydrogen phosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride and potassium chloride in high purity water, a pH of 7.5 is achieved. This slightly alkaline pH is particularly suitable for processes taking place under physiological conditions. The buffering capacity, which is due to the mixture of acid and base, keeps the pH stable even when acids or bases are added. Sodium azide is added to prevent the growth of microorganisms and extend the shelf life of the product. Therefore, this buffer is used in many life science and medical applications where a stable and slightly alkaline pH environment is required.
