Due to this property, the solution enables differentiated visualization of cytoplasmic and extracellular structures, which facilitates detailed examination of cell structures and tissues under the microscope.

On a chemical level, the staining effect of light green is based on ionic interactions and hydrogen bonding between the dye and cellular components. The dye is dissolved in Aqua bidest, which ensures homogeneous distribution and thus uniform dyeing.
