GOMORI differentiation solution is an important component of GOMORI trichrome staining, which helps to differentiate and contrast the various tissue structures. This solution consists of phosphotungstic acid and acetic acid.

In GOMORI trichrome staining, the differentiation solution is used after the application of the trichrome solution. It provides enhanced differentiation and contrast of collagen fibers, epithelium, cytoplasm, erythrocytes and muscle tissue. The differentiation solution helps to remove excess dye from the tissue, making it easier to see and differentiate individual structures.
