Formalin DecalFix (formic acid) consists of aqua dist./VE water (CAS No.: 7732-18-5), formaldehyde ~37%, stabilized (CAS No.: 50-00-0 / 67-56-1) and formic acid 98-100% (CAS No.: 64-18-6). In medicine and scientific laboratories, it is used for the fixation and decalcification of tissue samples, allowing simultaneous fixation and decalcification.
The chemical formula of formaldehyde is CH2O, while formic acid has the formula HCOOH.
