Formalin DecalFix (formic acid)
Formalin DecalFix (formic acid) consists of aqua dist./VE water (CAS No.: 7732-18-5), formaldehyde ~37%, stabilized (CAS No.: 50-00-0 / 67-56-1) and formic acid 98-100% (CAS No.: 64-18-6). In medicine and scientific laboratories, it is used for the fixation and decalcification of tissue samples, allowing simultaneous fixation and decalcification.
The chemical formula of formaldehyde is CH2O, while formic acid has the formula HCOOH. Combining these substances with distilled water creates a solution that stabilizes the organic structures in tissue samples and removes mineral components. This results in preservation of cellular morphology and facilitates subsequent microscopic examination. The product features specific chemical reactions that result in targeted alteration of the tissue under study.
Application can result in clear and detailed visualization of tissue structures, enabling precise analysis. Main Uses: Fixation and decalcification.
