Dyeing kit: Elastica according to Miller

Elastica by Miller staining kit is a product used in medical diagnostics, histology and scientific laboratories. It consists of four main components: Potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) 0.5%, oxalic acid (C₂H₂O₄) 1%, Miller's Victoria blue staining solution and Van GIESON microfuchsin.

With the help of this staining kit, bone and cartilage structures in particular can be visualized. By using the chemical substances mentioned, different tissue components are made visible. Potassium permanganate serves as an oxidizing agent, while oxalic acid acts as a reducing agent. Victoria blue is responsible for staining elastin fibers, and Van GIESON microfuchsin provides a high-contrast visualization of collagen.

The chemical reactions within the staining kit are based on the properties of the various ingredients. Oxidation of potassium permanganate and reduction of oxalic acid allow different colors to be displayed for different tissue components. Victoria blue reacts with elastin fibers, and Van GIESON microfuchsin binds to collagen.

The use of Elastica by Miller staining kit can provide versatile results that allow detailed examination and interpretation of tissue samples, depending on the problem. Trichrome staining allows precise distinctions to be made between different tissue components for more informed analysis.

Verwendung:

The Elastica according to Miller staining kit is used in histology and medical diagnostics, especially in scientific laboratories. It is used for trichrome staining and visualization of tissue components such as bone, cartilage structures, elastin fibers and collagen. The different chemical properties and reactions of the ingredients enable differential and high-contrast visualization of these tissue components. This makes an important contribution to in vitro diagnostics and enables detailed examination and interpretation of tissue samples.

Prinzip:

The Elastica staining kit according to Miller is used for specific labeling of elastic fibers in tissue and cell structures. The potassium permanganate and oxalic acid act as oxidizing and reducing agents that enable the staining reaction. Victoria blue staining solution marks the elastic fibers, while Van GIESON microfuchsin provides background staining to create contrast and highlight visible differences between the fibers and surrounding tissue.
