Staining Kit: Alizarin Red S for Calcium Detection in Soft Tissues

The staining kit: alizarin red S for calcium detection in soft tissues consists of three solutions: Alizarin Red S, buffered pH 9.0; Alizarin Red S, buffered pH 7.0; and Buffer by Ways, pH 7.0 - 10x concentrate.

In the areas of application, the kit is used for specific staining of calcium deposits in soft tissues, such as in the investigation of arteriosclerosis, kidney stones or cartilage calcifications. This special suitability lies in the selective binding of alizarin red S to calcium ions.

The chemical mode of operation is based on the complex formation between alizarin red S and calcium ions. Depending on the pH of the solution used, the staining intensity varies and allows differentiated visualization of calcium deposits. The buffer solution according to Weise is used to adjust the pH value for optimal staining results.

Advantages of this staining kit compared to similar products are the easy handling and the possibility to use both neutral and basic pH values for staining. This allows the staining intensity and specificity for calcium detection to be customized, resulting in accurate and reproducible results.

Verwendung:

The Staining Kit: Alizarin Red S for Calcium Detection in Soft Tissues is an in vitro diagnostic tool used for specific staining of calcium deposits in soft tissues. This is important in the investigation of diseases such as arteriosclerosis, kidney stones or cartilage calcifications. The kit consists of three solutions that allow differentiated visualization of calcium deposits and can adjust the pH for optimal staining results. Advantages of this kit are its ease of use and the individual adjustment of staining intensity and specificity, which lead to precise and reproducible results.

Prinzip:

The Alizarin Red S staining kit enables the detection of calcium in soft tissues by means of a pH-dependent staining reaction. Alizarin Red S is an anionic dye that selectively binds calcium ions and forms complexes of different colors at different pH values. At pH 9.0, an intense red coloration results, while at pH 7.0 a weaker orange coloration occurs. The buffers according to Weise are used to set the desired pH range and thus enable differentiated visualization of calcium binding in tissue or cell structures within in vitro diagnostics.
