Chromic Acid 5 %
Chromic acid 5% is a versatile aqueous solution used in various industries and applications. In histology, chromic acid is used as a fixative and hardener for tissue specimens. It enables the preservation of tissue structures and provides good morphology for microscopic examination. In addition, chromic acid is used in the metal industry for surface treatment of metals such as chromium, aluminum and zinc to increase their oxidation resistance and improve surface finish. In electrochemistry, chromic acid serves as an electrolyte in certain electrochemical applications, such as the production of primary batteries. In addition, chromic acid is used to clean glassware in laboratories because it effectively removes organic contaminants and leaves a clean surface. Finally, chromic acid can be used to treat wood to protect it from pests, fungi and other harmful organisms and to extend its life.
