Acetate buffer pH 4.99 (stock solution)
The Acetate Buffer pH 4.99 is part of the Campbell-Switzer silver plating kit. The mixture of water, sodium acetate and acetic acid forms a buffer solution whose chemical equilibrium is at a pH value of 4.99. Due to this property, it enables stable conditions for specific biochemical reactions, especially in staining processes. The chemical formula of the main components, sodium acetate (CH3COONa) and acetic acid (CH3COOH), demonstrates their ability to act as a conjugate-acid-base pair that effectively buffers pH. The use of this solution can enhance the visualization of specific structures and molecules in sample material, leading to more precise and detailed results in microscopic analysis. With a calculated molarity of about 1 M, an osmolarity of about 2 osmol/L and a high buffering capacity, this product can be effectively used in diverse applications.
