ZAMBONI solution

Zamboni's solution is a modification of Bouin's solution and finds application in histology and pathology as a fixative, especially for the study of fine cell structures and subcellular organelles, such as synapses and mitochondria. The modification involves the use of paraformaldehyde instead of formalin and additional buffering with phosphate and sodium hydroxide.

The operation of Zamboni's solution is based on the chemical properties of its components and their interactions. Compared to Bouin's solution, Zamboni's solution is less acidic due to the use of paraformaldehyde and buffering and has a pH in the range of 7. These properties result in the preservation of sensitive protein structures and better immunohistochemical detection.

The suitability of Zamboni's solution for histological and pathological applications results from its improved fixation and stabilization of tissue samples. Its formulation is designed to preserve better sample morphology and structure, making it ideal for the analysis of cell structures and subcellular organelles. In addition, the solution allows optimized adaptation and optimization depending on the application and needs to meet the specific requirements of histological and pathological processes.

Verwendung:

Zamboni solution is a ready-to-use fixative. The solution is very stable and provides fixation with rapid penetration and optimal preservation of cell proteins. During fixation, all processes taking place in the cell are interrupted, with the best possible preservation of the state and structure of the tissue. Biochemical processes such as autolysis, putrefaction and putrefaction are effectively prevented. Zamboni solution is well suited to fix kidney tissue. The fixative solution is intended exclusively for professional use as an in vitro diagnostic agent in the histology laboratory.

Prinzip:

The tissue pieces are immersed in the fixation solution. Immersion fixation takes place. The fixative solution is sufficient to denature the protein of the tissue and prevent autolysis. The metabolic processes in the tissue are stopped. The Zamboni solution contains picric acid and formaldehyde. The fixed tissue becomes firm and easily cut. The cell structures and cell components are preserved and after further processing the preparations can be evaluated by light microscopy. \r
