TissueGel - Biopsy Processing Gel

TissueGel - Biopsy Processing Gel serves as an embedding medium for biological specimens in the context of medical and histological diagnostics. It allows precise positioning and stabilization of small and delicate specimens for further processing steps, including section preparation and microscopy.

Chemically, TissueGel consists of a hydrophilic polymer that binds water and hardens at room temperature to form a solid but sliceable gel. This material retains its structure throughout specimen processing and helps maintain specimen integrity.

The use of TissueGel facilitates specimen handling and improves the quality of the resulting sections. It allows better visualization of tissue structures, contributing to more accurate histological analyses. The gel is well compatible with common staining procedures and does not interfere with subsequent microscopic examination of specimens. In addition, TissueGel allows its blocks to be embedded in kerosene or plastics for histological processing in the same way as other tissue samples.

Instructions / Protocol / Recommendations

Verwendung:

TissueGel is an embedding medium for biological specimens in in vitro diagnostics that enables precise placement and stabilization of specimens, especially small and delicate or cytological specimens. It improves the handling and quality of histological sections and preserves specimen integrity. This cuttable gel is suitable for section preparation and microscopy, is compatible with conventional staining methods, and can be embedded in kerosene or plastic for comprehensive histological processing to better visualize tissue structures.

Prinzip:

TissueGel works with its biodegradable hydrogel that adapts and binds to tissue and cell structures. When used in in vitro diagnostics, it maintains the natural architecture and cell orientation of the tissue by providing a solid three-dimensional structure. Its transparent nature allows direct visual inspection and precision sectioning of tissue samples. It also minimizes the risk of cross-linking, allowing for more accurate and reliable tissue sample examination and diagnosis.
