Potassium Ferrocyanide (III) 10 % (Red Prussiate)
Potassium ferricyanide(III) 10%, also known as red blood leach salt, is a powerful laboratory chemical that plays a central role in various chemical processes. Its chemical formula K3[Fe(CN)6] illustrates its complex structure, with each iron atom surrounded by six cyanide groups. When dissolved in water, it forms an intense yellowish solution known for its ability to bind iron ions and form deep blue complexes. This allows its application in quality control and analytics, especially in the Prussian Blue reaction, which is often used to identify iron. In addition, it can be used as a reducing agent in photographic development processes or for the production of blueprint paper.
