Hematoxylin after MAYER (H1)
Mayer's hematoxylin acidic (H1) is a solution used in histology and pathology for staining cell nuclei and other basophilic structures. The solution is particularly suitable for staining tissue sections, cytology preparations and cell culture preparations and is a widely used and reliable staining method in these fields.
The mode of operation of hematoxylin acidic according to Mayer (H1) is based on the dye hematoxylin dissolved in an aqueous base. Hematoxylin binds to basophilic structures such as nucleic acids and stains them blue-violet. The oxidation of hematoxylin to hematein, the active staining component, is accelerated by sodium iodate. Potassium alum acts as a mordant that strengthens and stabilizes the binding of hematein to cell structures. Chloral hydrate serves as an antioxidant and prevents premature oxidation of hematoxylin. Citric acid provides an acidic environment for the staining process and ensures optimal staining conditions.
The suitability of Mayer's hematoxylin acidic (H1) for histological and pathological applications lies in its ability to stain cell nuclei and basophilic structures with precision and contrast. This staining allows differentiation and identification of various cell types and tissue components, making the solution suitable for a variety of histology and pathology applications. Mayer's hematoxylin acidic (H1) solution is characterized by its high sensitivity and specificity as well as its adaptability to different examination requirements.

Verwendung:
