Formaline 6 %, neutral buffered
Formalin 6% Carbonate Buffer, pH neutral, contains 6% formaldehyde and calcium carbonate to buffer to a neutral pH range. This ready-to-use solution is mainly used as a routine fixative in histology, in vitro diagnostics and scientific laboratories.
The chemical composition of the product consists of formaldehyde (CH2O), a strong fixative, and calcium carbonate (CaCO3), a buffering agent that maintains a neutral pH of approximately 7.0. The buffering capacity of the solution ensures that tissue samples retain their morphological characteristics during fixation. Formaldehyde reacts with proteins, cross-linking them and stabilizing the cellular structure of the tissue.
By using this product, well-preserved tissue specimens can be expected with minimal shrinkage and distortion. This enables accurate examination, diagnosis and further research in various scientific fields. Due to its fixation properties, the solution is suitable for a variety of applications, including histopathological examinations and immunohistochemistry.
Based on the components indicated, the molarity of formaldehyde is calculated to be about 1.2 M, while the osmolarity is about 2.4 Osm/L. The buffer capacity is determined by the amount of calcium carbonate present in the solution.

Verwendung:
