Staining Kit: MorLEUK (Leucemia Detection)
MorLEUK is a specially designed staining kit for the detection of leukemias in laboratory environments. It consists of a combination of hematoxilin, ethanol, fixative mixture for blood and bone marrow smears, Schiff's reagent, acetone and glycerol gelatin, each of which plays specific roles in the staining procedure. Hematoxilin serves as the basic stain that stains cell nuclei blue. Schiff's reagent, a fuchsin-sulfurous acid solution, binds to aldehydic groups and produces an intense red stain, which is specifically used to highlight certain cell structures. Ethanol, acetone and the fixative mixture stabilize the samples and ensure optimal preparation. Glycerol gelatin serves as embedding medium and protects the samples during the examination. By using the kit, morphological changes in cells characteristic of various forms of leukemia can be visualized and differentiated under the microscope.
