CARNOY’s Fixative (Chloroform & Iron(III) Chloride) - B
CARNOY Fixing Solution (Chloroform & Ferric Chloride) - B is an in vitro diagnostic agent used in histological and pathological analysis. The main application of this solution is in the fixation of tissue samples.
The solution consists of ethanol, chloroform, acetic acid and ferric chloride. Ethanol and chloroform act as dehydrating agents and solvents that assist in the removal of water and lipids from the tissue. This process helps preserve natural cell morphology.
Acetic acid in solution helps preserve and harden nucleic acids. Ferric chloride serves as a mild oxidizing agent and can help stabilize certain molecular structures.
The solution is ready to use immediately, without the need for additional components.
