Aluminium Sulfate 5 %
Aluminum sulfate 5% is an aqueous solution of aluminum sulfate hydrate - 14 H2O with an exact proportion of 5% alumnium fulfate. Fields of application of this solution extend mainly to water treatment, paper production and textile industry. The product is particularly suitable for flocculation of particles in wastewater to improve clarification and facilitate removal of impurities.
Chemically, aluminum sulfate works by forming aluminum hydroxide flocs that precipitate upon encountering and entrapping dissolved impurities. These flakes can then be filtered off or sedimented, purifying the water. The reactions that occur in the process involve the hydrolysis of aluminum sulfate and the formation of aluminum hydroxide flocs.
