Alumina 90 basic, also known as Al2O3, is widely used in plastics chemistry and scientific laboratories. It is characterized by its high thermal stability, strength and adsorption capacity, which makes it an excellent filler for plastics. When embedded in polymers, it improves the mechanical and thermal properties of the final product by crosslinking the polymer chains, thus limiting their mobility.

The destabilization of plastics (especially Technovit 9100) represents a special application and, in the specific case of Technovit 9100, allows the performance of immunohistochemical staining.
