Acridine Red Solution after EMIG

Acridine red solution according to EMIG is an aqueous solution used in various applications. It consists mainly of distilled or demineralized water, chrysoidin G, acridine red, aluminum ammonium sulfate dodecahydrate and acetic acid.

The applications of this solution extend mainly to microscopy and the staining of biological specimens. In particular, it is used to stain bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms to make them more visible under the microscope.

The chemical mode of operation is based on the dyes chrysoidin G and acridine red, which attach to the cell structures of microorganisms and increase their contrast. Aluminum ammonium sulfate dodecahydrate acts as a fixative, stabilizing the cells and preserving their structure. Acetic acid is added in small amounts to adjust the pH of the solution and ensure optimal staining.

The special suitability of the Acridine Red solution according to EMIG lies in its ability to provide differential staining of microorganisms, which is necessary for precise identification and examination. At the same time, the solution is characterized by its chemical stability and compatibility with various sample materials.
